Kaze Kiri Ninja Action

I got to know about this game from my friend, a die-hard NEC fan. He was talking about how Kaze Kiri was an absolute masterpiece and how it was much better than all other ninja games like Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden. Not only that, but he also claimed this game to be one of the best Turbo CD games ever created only rivaled by Ys Book 1&2 and Ys IV: The Dawn of Ys. And since I knew how great those games were I couldn`t help borrowing Kaze Kiri from him for a week or so.

On to my review. Is this game really as great as some PC-Engine fans(yep, lately I`ve seen other NEC maniacs totally raving about it) claim it to be? Not quite. It`s a generic ninja action game that`s good while it lasts. It has it`s own pluses, but overall isn`t in the same league with good old Shinobi and Ninja Gaiden games.
